We finished up our Gospel series this past week at church. Our goal at Summit Crossing is for missional living to be at the core of who we are and what we do. Living out the gospel cannot be a side bar to our mission and vision. It has to be in our DNA. Our prayer is that we will find ways to live out the gospel in consistent, practical ways. We discussed the idea Sunday morning that living out the gospel means we must learn to do everyday life with missional intentionality. I gave a list of eight ways to do this. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but hopefully it will get your wheels turning and your heart pumping in regards to living out your faith.

1) Eat with outsiders- We all eat 3-4 meals a day anyway, use that time to get to know co-workers, neighbors, etc.

2) Exercise with unbelievers- Create and schedule your exercise routine with building relationships with others in mind.

3) Recreate with unbelievers- Whether it’s golf or basket weaving, do it with someone else other than your best friend.

4) Leave your backyard and go to public playgrounds- Whether you have children or not, find places people are gathering for entertainment and go strike up a conversation.

5) Be a regular at local hot spots- Whether it’s Starbucks or the local Wing Shack, be consistent and build a relationship with the staff.

6) Plug into city events- Find out from the local Chamber of Commerce what events are going on, and get involved.

7) Volunteer at your children’s school as a morning reader- If you don’t have kids in school yet, find a school to volunteer in.

Let’s live the gospel out in a city that desperately needs to hear the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
