Welcome To Summit Crossing
Welcome to Summit Crossing Community Church! Our vision is to see the Kingdom of Christ advance from our neighborhoods to the nations for the glory of God. Our mission is to make maturing and multiplying disciples who increasingly believe who they are in Christ as they intentionally endeavor to Know Jesus, Connect in gospel relationships, and Live for the King’s mission in their world.
Our
History

Summit Crossing Community Church was birthed by God in the minds of a few families in February 2001. After 2 years of prayer and planning, Summit Crossing Community Church officially began gathering in a home in Madison.
When God planted Summit Crossing Community Church in August 2003, it began with a “small group” of believers who desired to see a movement. A movement far beyond life as they knew it, church as they knew it, community as they knew it. A life of extraordinary existence, of passion, of meaning, of joy. A life that would change the one living it and the ones watching it. In short, Summit Crossing Community Church was planted to change history.
In 2009, with a great desire to make disciples by planting churches, we joined the ACTS 29 Church Planting Network. This allowed Summit Crossing to strategically focus on seeing churches planted rooted in Gospel community.
While our gathering locations have moved, the vision never has. We exist to make maturing and multiplying disciples who increasingly believe who they are in Christ as they intentionally endeavor to Know Jesus, Connect in gospel relationships, and Live for the King’s mission in their world. As a community, we make disciples of Jesus Christ in the everyday rhythms of life. Life is a journey and it’s a journey we were never meant to walk alone.
Our Elders
At Summit Crossing Community Church, we take our cue from the Bible in all matters of faith and practice. Church leadership isn’t excluded from the test of scripture. In the Old Testament God called individual men and women to lead His people. This changed with the coming of Jesus Christ and the birth of His church. He called out twelve men to whom He entrusted His church, a plurality in leadership.
Of the 18 times church leadership is mentioned after Christ’s ascension, 15 of them denote plurality in church leadership (the other three references are actually viewed in light of a plural context). From the birth of the church in Acts throughout its growth, the church leadership is placed in the hands of a group of overseers or elders. They are a group of men called out by God for four major purposes:
- To know the people of the church.
- To lead the church with grace and truth.
- To feed the church through Spirit-filled, Biblical teaching.
- To protect the church from false teaching.
The elders of Summit Crossing Community Church desire to fulfill the same task given to the early church leaders. Below are the elders serving our Madison location.
