Missional Communities (MCs for short) are the primary way we grow in our faith and build relationships as adults here at Summit Crossing. If you’ve experienced small groups, Bible studies, or Sunday school classes at another church, MCs serve a similar purpose but with a strong missional focus. They’re designed to help you grow in gospel community, live out your faith in everyday life, and join in God’s mission together.
The best way to join a Missional Community is by attending MC101, a connection and training event. MC101 meets for five weeks on Sunday mornings (11am–12:15pm). You’ll learn what a Missional Community is, why it matters, and how to live out its three key rhythms:
- Family Gatherings – sharing life together as a family of brothers and sisters in Christ
- DNA Groups – smaller, gender-specific groups of 3-5 men/women for deeper discipleship
- Neighborhoods to Nations – how our groups live on mission locally and globally
During MC101, you won’t just learn about Missional Communities. Those in the room will be placed with one another around different tables to form brand-new Missional Communities starting Week Two. You’ll finish the remaining weeks together with your new MC, putting into practice what you’re learning. Groups are primarily organized by geography, but we also consider life stage and existing relationships when forming new groups.
