Introduction
This year, we at Summit Crossing will begin an annual walk together through the season of lent.
Lent is a 40-day season of focused discipleship that invites us to walk the road to the cross with Jesus. Lent traditionally ends in Holy Week—a time when we remember the betrayal, suffering, and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Holy Week culminates in Easter Sunday, when we celebrate His triumphant resurrection. Just as Christ spent 40 days in the wilderness fasting and relying solely on the Father before His public ministry, we set aside this time to strip away the distractions of our world and tune our entire being to the voice of God, and we prepare our hearts to grieve the suffering of Christ and celebrate His victory over death.
Prayer Gatherings & Sign-Up Form
In addition to the journal, we are walking as a church through Lent through weekly themes that walk through the life of Christ, inviting us to pray and live out abiding practices He models for us.Â
For the first 6 Thursdays of Lent (February 19 – March 26), we invite you to a short, lunch-hour time of fasting and prayer from 12:15pm until 12:45pm
