Identities & Actions of a Missional Community

Why Missional Community?
Missional Communities exist:
1. For the glory of God and the advancement of the Kingdom of Christ
Summit Crossing Vision: We exist to see the kingdom of Christ advance from the Neighborhoods to the Nations for the glory of God.
2. To make maturing and multiplying disciples
Summit Crossing Mission: To make maturing and multiplying disciples who increasingly believe who they are as they intentionally endeavor to know Jesus, connect in gospel relationships, and live for the King’s mission in their world.

How Does Missional Community Work?
These rhythms are Family Gatherings, DNA Groups, and Neighborhoods to Nations. Each rhythm is equally important in the overall function and design of the Missional Community.
Regularly practicing these three rhythms together will make maturing and multiplying disciples.

Family Gatherings
A Missional Community is a family to which we belong rather than an event for us to attend. The Family Gathering is the opportunity for a Missional Community to experience the life of Christ as they eat together, study the Scriptures, pray together, share stories of God’s grace, and enjoy their identity as brothers and sisters in Christ.

DNA Groups
DNA Groups consist of three to four men or women who are members of the same Missional Community. “DNA” is an acronym that keeps a group’s time focused in three primary sections each time a group meets. The “D” refers to Discovering Jesus in the Scriptures. The “N” refers to Nurturing One Another’s Hearts. The “A” refers to Acting With Accountability.

Neighborhoods to Nations
The rhythm of Neighborhoods to Nations is where we clearly see our identity as everyday missionaries come to life. As witnesses of the work of Christ in our own lives, we will love the neighbors of our city and live to advance Christ’s Kingdom to all nations. This includes radical acts of kindness to our neighbors and engaging the global need for a gracious Savior.
